About Journal
The Canadian Journal of Economics (CJE)/Revue canadienne d'économique is the journal of the Canadian Economics Association (CEA), and is the primary academic economics journal in Canada. While the CJE is the premier outlet for high-quality papers concerning the Canadian economy and policy issues, the editors seek to maintain and enhance the position of the CJE as a major, internationally recognized journal by publishing papers on all economics topics -- theoretical or empirical -- and international in scope.

Submission Process

General Guidelines for Authors
The manuscript should be typed or computer-printed on standard-sized paper. The main text must be double-spaced. However, for a first submission, footnotes and references may be single-spaced (although these will eventually have to be double-spaced if the paper is accepted for publication.) Assuming a standard 11 point font or typeface and 1-inch (2.54cm) margins, the paper should not exceed 35 pages, including everything except notes not intended for publication. Do not use a font smaller than 10-point or larger than 12-point for the main text. You should provide an abstract and it is helpful (but not essential) to provide up to two JEL classification codes.

References
Note the CJE referencing style obtained from the "author-date" system recommended in the Chicago Manual of Style except that periods are replaced with other symbols.

The following examples illustrate the required style for references:

Eaton, B. Curtis, and Richard G. Lipsey (1989) "Product differentiation," in Handbook of Industrial Organization, Vol. 1, ed. R. Schmalensee and R. Willig (Amsterdam: North-Holland)

Diewert, W. Erwin, and Alice O. Nakamura, eds (1993)  Essays in Index Number Theory, Vol. 1 (Amsterdam: North-Holland)
