The Journal of Accounting and Economics encourages the application of economic theory to the explanation of accounting phenomena. It provides a forum for the publication of the highest quality manuscripts which employ economic analyses of accounting problems.

Submission Process

General Guidelines for Authors
The JAE requires a submission fee of US $400 per submission for authors who currently subscribe to the Journal of Accounting and Economics (or the Library subscribes) and US $450 for non-subscribers. The submission fee for the final round will be refunded for all accepted manuscripts (unless it was previously waived). There are no page charges. In order to encourage a quick turnaround time, a portion of this fee is paid to the referee if the manuscript is reviewed within three weeks.
